Chinese Beef & Broccoli Stir-Fry with Steamed Rice / A deliciously saucy beef stir-fry loaded with crisp broccoli and tender carrots, served over fluffy steamed white rice. Classic, comforting, and quick to whip up!
𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
Stir-Fry:
1/3 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
1 cup broccoli florets
1/2 carrot, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Sauce:
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp cornstarch
2 tbsp water
Optional: 1/2 tsp sesame oil or chili flakes
Base:
1/2 cup jasmine or long-grain white rice, cooked
𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:
1️⃣ Cook the Rice
Prepare white rice according to package directions. Keep warm and fluffy.
2️⃣ Mix the Sauce
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin, sugar, cornstarch, water, and sesame oil.
3️⃣ Sear the Beef
Heat oil in a wok or skillet. Sear beef slices on high heat for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
4️⃣ Stir-Fry Veggies
Add a splash of oil if needed. Stir-fry broccoli and carrots for 3–4 minutes. Add garlic and sauté 1 more minute.
5️⃣ Combine & Finish
Return beef to the pan. Pour in sauce. Stir-fry for another 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens and coats everything.
6️⃣ Serve
Plate hot stir-fry next to a bed of white rice. Spoon extra sauce over if desired.
